With the Variable Billing program, payment amounts are based on a rolling 12-month average of actual costs. From there, the payment is recalculated each month. This program makes your utility bill relatively stable from month-to-month. Because the bill will vary only slightly, managing your budget will be simplified.
Customers wanting to sign up for Variable Billing can do so if they have a “zero” balance on their account. For more detailed information on the Variable Billing program, refer to our General Terms and Conditions (section 4.09) or contact us at (620) 245-2515.
The Fixed Billing program is similar to the Variable Billing program. With this program, your bill is also based on a 12-month average of your actual costs; however, it is recalculated every April, August, and December.
To be eligible for the Fixed Billing program, a customer must have one year of service with the BPU at the same location. This will ensure that your billing amount is accurately calculated.
