As summer temperatures rise, so does electric demand. McPherson BPU’s peak usage typically occurs on weekdays between 1–7 pm during June, July, and August.
The more electricity used during these peak times, the greater the impact on system costs. Reducing energy use during these peak hours can help lower Capacity & Transmission costs.
Help reduce peak demand by:
Adjusting A/C use
Limiting large equipment use during peak hours
Shifting non-essential tasks to mornings, nights, or weekends
